Kids are given time-outs when they are too noisy. No matter why a parent or teacher gives a child a time-out, the goal is to help the child slow down, come back to the present, and start over. It's a reset that helps kids get back into the playground of life a little slower and more aware of what they're doing.

Even adults can benefit from a reset every so often. Even though most people have busy, deadline-driven days that move so quickly that they often forget about their own health and well-being. Take a break every so often to help you slow down, get back in touch with yourself and your goals, and make more thoughtful decisions.

Try these "time INs," or 10 minute meditation breaks, to help you get back on track. Change between them based on what you need at the moment. Before you start each one, set a timer for 8 to 10 minutes. Plus, if you like these meditations, you can do them for 20 to 30 minutes at a time if you want to.
