How free cancellations on United Airlines work
If you cancel your flight with United Airlines within 24 hours of booking, you'll receive a full refund as long as you booked at least 7 days before your departure. All reservations, including those for "Basic Economy," are subject to this.
Your original payment method will be credited with your refund after you Cancel your ticket within the allotted 24-hour period.
Note
You will get your refund as an electronic travel certificate if you paid using a United Gift Certificate for your reservation.
There are no refunds available for tickets purchased using e-certificates.
The reservation money will not be returned if FareLock was used to hold your reservation.
